CPSC recalls 250,000 Cooluli mini-fridges whose electrical switch can short-circuit and start fires
About 250,000 Cooluli 10-liter and 15-liter minifridges are recalled because their electrical switch can short-circuit, creating fire and burn hazards. Cooluli has logged 19 reports of units smoking, sparking, burning, melting, overheating or catching fire, with property damage totaling more than $80,000 and one smoke-inhalation injury. The importer is Lisse USA LLC of Brooklyn, New York.
The affected units have two power input ports on the back (AC and DC) and a removable cord with no separate power adapter brick. Batch numbers 1535 through 1545 and 1200000 through 1202080 are included; the model (ITEM #) and batch number are printed on a label inside the fridge door. They were sold in the Infinity, Classic, Glow Beauty and Vibe series in black, blue, green, white, red and patterned finishes.
Stop using the fridge immediately. Contact Cooluli at 718-834-5312, recall@cooluli.com, or cooluli.com/pages/product-notices-recalls; you will be asked to unplug the unit, cut the power cord and send photos of the model and batch numbers. Cooluli will ship a free replacement DC power cord plus a permanent sticker to cover the AC port so the unit can only be used on DC power.
