Hampton Bay Halwin 52-inch ceiling fans recalled after blades separated from the motor

About 9,460 Hampton Bay Halwin 52-inch indoor/outdoor ceiling fans are recalled because the fan blades can separate from the motor flywheel while the fan is running, posing impact and injury hazards. Youngo Limited, the manufacturer, has received 11 reports of blades breaking or separating; no injuries have been reported. The fans were sold at Home Depot.

The recall covers model numbers AK396H-MBK (matte black) and AK396H-BN (brushed nickel), which have an adjustable white LED light and a remote. UPCs 840059614922 and 840059615370 appear on the product packaging, on the rating label inside the fan's mounting plate (the same label as the serial number), and on the warranty registration card.

Stop using the fan immediately. Contact Youngo toll-free at 877-902-5588 (9 a.m. to 5 p.m. PT, weekdays), by email at halwin-recall@tal-usa.com, or at tal-usa.com/halwin-recall for either a full refund by ACH payment or store credit as a Home Depot gift card — both require proof of purchase or a photo of the serial number plus a photo showing the product was disposed of. Alternatively, return the fan to any Home Depot store for store credit or a refund to the original payment card.
